The Chester Fair is continuously seeking quality concessionaires for the Fair. If you operate a concession and wish to be considered for our Fair here is some information to get you started.

General Considerations

  • All vendors need to have a clean, neat, professional looking concession.
  • The potential vendor needs to plan on staffing its booth for all of the open hours of the Fair, regardless of the weather conditions. Any vendor that makes the decision to leave early, arrive late, or otherwise set their own hours, will have their contract terminated and will be requested to leave the Fairgrounds.
  • All vendors will need to provide their own tables and chairs. Outdoor vendors will also need to provide shelter from the elements for themselves and their merchandise .
  • The Fair will provide typical electrical connections (110v 20 amp) for the vendor. Any other electrical requirements exceeding that will be subject to additional fees.
  • Vendors will be provided with a reasonable (to be determined by the concession manager) number of gate passes to staff its booth.
  • Pictures of your set-up and lists of products you wish to sell should be included with your application. Vendors will be allowed to sell only the products indicated on their application and contract.
  • All vendors must have and provide evidence of insurance coverage. (certificate of insurance) If you are a non-food vendor and do not have you own business insurance you can apply for coverage through the Fair.
  • All vendors must comply with our Zero Waste requirements by recycling all plastic, glass, metal, paper and corrugated boxes.

Food Vendors

We have a limited amount space available for Food Vendors. Food vendors in good standing from the previous fair are typically given first refusal for a spot at the current years fair. The Chester Fair seeks to have a large variety of foods available to attendees and tries not to duplicate menu items.

The fees for Food Concessions are $100 plus $25 per frontage foot. (20’depth) You will also be charged additionally for anything other than typical (110v 20 amp) electrical service. Food Vendors also need to apply for and obtain a Town of Chester CT. Food Service License.

All Food Vendors must include a signed Zero Waste Agreement along with their contract and actively participate in the usage of food scrap and recycle bins placed at their locations during the fair.

Food Vendors MUST agree to having all tableware and paper products assessed prior to the fair, with the use of composable tableware mandatory- unless granted an exception by the Zero Waste Committee.
